Game over for Liverpool forward as Richard Hughes slashes asking price

Liverpool are making a radical overhaul to their attack this summer.

We have already seen Victor Munoz arrive on a €40m deal from Osasuna after the Reds triggered the Spaniard’s release clause.

Deals are also expected to be concluded for other wingers - with the likes of Bradley Barcola, Said El Mala and Yankuba Minteh said to be in the frame.

The outgoing Premier League champions no longer have a pathway towards signing Yan Diomande - with it now inevitable that the Ivorian sensation will join Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool clearing space for new attackers

Space has been made in the squad by the shedding of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian King, 34, reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early.

He will be choosing a new club very soon - once Egypt finish up their FIFA World Cup campaign.

And it also looks certain that Federico Chiesa will be joining Salah in the departure lounge. The Italian signed for Liverpool back in 2024 on a deal worth up to £12.5m from Juventus.

Chiesa inked a deal until 2028 with the Anfield side - but has struggled to break into the team on a regular basis.

Chiesa looks set for Serie A return

Euro 2020 winner Chiesa only made two Premier League starts last season - paving the way for an exit this summer.

Como and Napoli are both thought to be keen on adding Chiesa to the ranks - and it now looks like Liverpool are prepared to ease the transfer process.

Because a report in Football Insider is claiming that Richard Hughes is SLASHING Chiesa’s asking price. It was previously stated that Chiesa could cost anywhere between £17.5m and £22m.

The report now claims that the Merseysiders will listen to bids starting at JUST £10m.

LFC will take £10m for Chiesa

“The 28-year-old is available for between £10million-£15m after struggling to break into the starting XI,” the report reads.

It also adds that Chiesa has been told to find a new club this summer- making it all but inevitable that he is being discarded by Andoni Iraola.

Previously a high Liverpool asking price combined with Chiesa’s wage demands were making it difficult to find an appropriate deal in Italy. He is making around £150k per week - and no Serie A teams will be comfortable going that high in talks.

Therefore bringing Chiesa’s price down will be worth it - as it will help prompt and deal and make him more affordable for Serie A sides.

We are moving towards the transfer endgame for Chiesa - whose time on Merseyside hasn’t been a success despite that Premier League tite in his first season at the club.
