Romano & Ornstein give MOMENTOUS Trent Alexander-Arnold update
Liverpool are about to win the Premier League, but there is still one great unknown at Anfield.
The Reds’ captain Virgil van Dijk and their talisman Mohamed Salah have both signed new contracts in recent weeks, but the future of another star is still up in the air.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been the most talked about player in world football since he scored Liverpool’s winner against Leicester on Sunday.
Although Trent’s strike itself was discussion worthy, it is the right-back’s future that everyone has been discussing.
An impassioned celebration with the travelling Liverpool supporters was enough to send the rumour mill into overdrive, but the latest updates suggest that might not be necessary.
Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein give Alexander-Arnold update
Despite the hope of many Liverpool supporters, an impending free transfer move to Real Madrid has looked almost certain for months.
There has been no official confirmation, and Trent refused to comment on his comment on his future on Sunday, but the top transfer journalists have all said the same thing for months.
Now, two of the most respected transfer insiders – Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein – have both offered updates on the 26-year-old’s situation.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano said: “Real Madrid have no doubts. If you speak with people at Real Madrid, they already consider Trent as one of the players at their club for next season, and I don't think this is going to change.”
Just days later, Orstein answered a question on Alexander-Arnold in a Q&A for The Athletic, saying: “As has been widely reported, [Trent] is expected to join Real Madrid as a free agent.”
Both of these updates came after Alexander-Arnold’s celebration at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
Will Trent stay at Liverpool?
There is no simple answer to the question of Alexander-Arnold’s future. Anything can happen in football and, until there is an official announcement, it is of course a possibility that Trent could remain at Anfield.
Romano himself admitted it when speaking to GMS, saying “in football, anything can happen.”
Before their extensions were made public, there was plenty of speculation that both Salah and Van Dijk were heading for the exit door at Anfield.
It still looks very likely that Alexander-Arnold will swap Merseyside for Madrid in June, but it has looked that way for months.

Speculation about Trent’s future will continue right up to the minute either a transfer or a contract extension is officially announced, but for now it seems like the hometown hero is closer to the exit door than he is to penning a new contract.
