Liverpool hold advantage in £75m SURPRISE transfer race
Liverpool hold an advantage in a surprise transfer race. The Reds may be able to win it now.
One of the more surprising transfer stories of the last year is Liverpool's interest in Jarrad Branthwaite. Now, that the Reds would want Branthwaite isn't the surprise.

He's an excellent defender and one of the most promising in the country. Branthwaite doesn't turn 23 until the end of the month but he's now got plenty of Premier League experience and looks like he could be quite special.
The surprise is that he's at Everton and Liverpool do not buy players from Everton. They've tried in the past but things have always gone exactly as you'd expect.
Perhaps this one could be different, though. Liverpool's interest refuses to go away and has been consistently reported for a year now.
Maybe they know something we don't. It could be that they plan on using a clear advantage they have. In fact, they have three.

Liverpool's Jarrad Branthwaite advantage
The Liverpool Echo reports that signing Branthwaite will be difficult for any club this summer. Everton don't want to sell him and it'll take a massive fee.
But they also say that one of the reasons Everton feel they can hang onto the player is that he's content on Merseyside and isn't pushing to leave. Well, he wouldn't have to if he signs for Liverpool.
That's not the only advantage Liverpool hold, either. Branthwaite is keen to make the step up and play UEFA Champions League football, per the Dail Mail - something the Reds can absolutely offer.
Of course, those are only advantages when it comes to swaying the player and that's not actually the concern here. Still, it appears Liverpool would have no trouble doing so.
As for convincing Everton, the secret to unlocking the door appears to be Ben Doak. Sky Sports report that the Toffees very much want to sign the winger from Liverpool.
Well, if they want that to happen, they've simply got to be open to other players heading in the other direction. Branthwaite would absolutely be at the top of that list for Liverpool and rightfully so.
