Brazil striker PASSES Liverpool audition
Liverpool are going to require a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah in the near future.
The Egyptian King is out of contract in 2027 - but is coming into focus once again at teams in the Saudi Pro League.
With his Liverpool future under scrutiny there is a possibility that sporting director Richard Hughes accepts a bid for his services next summer.
Salah, 33, remains in high demand in Saudi Arabia and sides such as Al-Qadsiah and Al-Hilal may even be persuaded to pay a decent transfer fee for the two-time African footballer of the year.
If Salah leaves - taking £400k per week off the salary budget - then Liverpool will have a space opening up on the right side of attack.
Endrick tearing it up at Lyon
And right now the Reds have a golden opportunity to strike for one of the hottest young Brazilian talents around.
Endrick, 19, is currently on loan at Lyon and is TEARING up French football. The No9 made a temporary move to the Ligue 1 side in early January after finding first-team football hard to come by at Real Madrid.
The former Palmeiras standout is off to a flying start - scoring FOUR goals in only three games in all competitions for Lyon and adding one assist.
At the weekend he was imperious against Metz in the French top flight - scoring a hat-trick in a 5-2 away win.
Lyon are in financial dire straits and it’s unlikely they will be able to fund a permanent deal for their loan star next summer. However this is where Liverpool come in.
Lyon spell could be Endrick's Liverpool 'audition'
A few weeks ago it was reported in Spanish media that Endrick was effectively “on trial” at Lyon ahead of a proposed move to Anfield next summer.
Reds recruiters would be watching carefully and if Endrick could regain the kind of form that persuaded Madrid to buy him in the first place back in 2024 then he would be the subject of a summer bid.
Madrid have got no place for him in attack - given the presence of Kylian Mbappe and an abundance of other forward talents. The 15-time European champions would surely be receptive to a bid for a player under contract until 2030.
Endrick has been making the right side of the Lyon attack his own in recent weeks - not quite featuring as an out-and-out striker. He would be capable of coming to Merseyside and making an immediate impact due to his finishing and playmaking capabilities.
Let’s see how this one transpires - and whether Richard Hughes follows through on the reported plan to sign Endrick after what is proving to be a successful spell in Ligue 1.
