Red Bull has developed a reputation as one of the finest incubators of young talent in world football over the last decade or so.

Of course Liverpool have benefitted - with the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate and club legend Sadio Mane having risen through the ranks of RB Leipzig and / or Red Bull Salzburg.

Other Liverpool players such as Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino have also been shaped by the Red Bull systems.

But the energy drink giant has churned out talents for other clubs too - in the shape of Josip Gvardiol, Benjamin Sesko, Xavi Simons, Christopher Nkunku and Dani Olmo.

That pipeline is not showing any signs of being turned off moreover - and there is a player coming through who has been likened to Erling Haaland for his potential.

Red Bull discover another gem in Diomande

The Norwegian forward, 25, moved to Salzburg from Bryne as a teenager before establishing himself as a bonafide great of the modern game at Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.

He moved to Dortmund back in 2020 for only €20m - a snip - but there is no doubt that he is the greatest player to pass through the Red Bull ranks.

But Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig could end up rivalling the striker’s impact - and Liverpool will be right in the mix for his signature.

Leipzig stole a march on Europe’s giants last summer in completing a €20m deal for the Ivorian. The 18-year-old was playing for lesser-known LaLiga side Leganes last season - signing a five-year contract at the Red Bull Arena.

Life in Germany has got off to a great start for the winger - who has recently switched over from the left to the right for his club side.

Ole Werner’s side have found some excellent form domestically - with Diomande the talk of Germany due to two goals and three assists in his last two Bundesliga games.

Yan Diomande valued at €100m

It follows a strong start to his international career for Les Elephants- scoring in each of his first two caps during October’s international window.

Already Diomande is looking destined for bigger and better things - just two years on from playing academy football in the United States.

Liverpool - along with the rest of the Premier League’s so-called big six - have been named as suitors in a new report from TBR Football.

And fellow Euro giants Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing the emerging African superstar.

Red Bull will reportedly place a €100m fee on Diomande’s signature - emphasising their belief that he is heading right to the top.

And in the same report it is stated that Diomande is seen as the group’s greatest talent since Haaland.

Diomande - the greatest prospect since Haaland

“He really is special, I am told Red Bull think he could be their greatest prospect since Erling Haaland,” the report states.

“Leipzig say there is no release clause, and already he is being talked about in the £88 million category.

“From what I am hearing from scouts and clubs, there is not a player currently in Europe who has clubs more excited.

“Could he have a third club in 18 months, come next summer? It’s not beyond the realms of possibility.”

Moreover it’s added that head of football Jurgen Klopp is delighted at having Diomande on board - believing him to be one of the best young wingers in the game right now.

“The six major Premier League clubs are all believed to have watched the teenager on multiple occasions, with Leipzig hugely excited by his talent,” the report states.

Liverpool will soon be in the market for new wingers - with question marks over Mo Salah’s long-term future and an upgrade for Cody Gakpo being a possibility next summer.

Yan Diomande - remember the name - because he could be the chosen one to come to Anfield and star for the next decade.
