Talks commence as Liverpool THUNDER towards Marc Guehi deal
Liverpool missed out on signing Marc Guehi back on transfer deadline day.
Although the Crystal Palace captain gave his blessing to the move, the FA Cup holders pulled out of the deal at the 11th hour.
The clubs had previously agreed a fee worth an initial £35m for the England international - who is out of contract in 2026.
However owing to Oliver Glasner’s side’s failure to recruit a replacement it was decided that Guehi would stay put. That transfer miss has in turn had a big impact on the Reds’ season.
The Premier League title-holders are crying out for extra quality at the back due to a decline in the form of Ibrahima Konate and Giovanni Leoni being injured.

Accordingly plans are very much moving forward regarding a move for Guehi in the winter transfer window.
The saga has taken a HUGE step forward this week as talks have commenced between Liverpool and Guehi’s representatives.
That’s according to a new report in TEAMtalk, which claims Liverpool are ready to pay between £25m and £30m for a player who will be out of contract in only six months from January.
Liverpool are dreading interest in Guehi from Real Madrid - who are entitled to speak to the 25-year-old about a free transfer in under four weeks.

That in turn has accelerated plans to snare Guehi and give the club’s title defence a mid-season boost. Guehi remains committed to the move - according to the same report – and Liverpool can count themselves at the front of the queue for his signature.
Opening talks with Guehi’s entourage could bring a positive effect for the Reds in their attempts to boost their backline.
Let’s see if Palace play ball in January - with the Reds offering them plenty of money that could go towards a replacement.
