Liverpool to CONFIRM new signing before weekend is over
Liverpool’s plans for the 2025/26 season are moving quickly. The Reds may have landed the Premier League title during Arne Slot’s first season in charge but sporting director Richard Hughes isn’t standing still.
There will be several outgoings taking place over the coming weeks, with plenty of first-team squad members currently unsure about their futures.

We will see changes at centre-back - with doubts surrounding all of Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah. Likewise, forward including Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are at risk - with a No9 said to be a priority for Slot and Hughes.

One change that is already in the works is a new right-back. Trent Alexander-Arnold has confirmed his intention to leave the club, bringing the curtain down on two decades in Liverpool red.
The 26-year-old is likely to move on a free to Real Madrid and Liverpool have a space opening up on the right side of their defence.
Liverpool chasing Frimpong deal
Although Conor Bradley is firmly in the picture, doubts over the Northern Ireland international’s fitness have led the club to consider other options.
That decision led them to Jeremie Frimpong - the double-winning Bayer Leverkusen right wing-back.
Frimpong, 24, has got a release clause in his B04 contract - believed to be for around £30m. That is a bargain fee for such a high-quality performer and fans are quite rightly excited to see the Dutch international come to the club.
Because Liverpool don’t require negotiations with Leverkusen over the release clause, it is expected that this transfer will move rapidly.
In fact it’s now been claimed that Frimpong will officially be a Liverpool player before Monday.
The deal has received 'here we go' status from Fabrizio Romano, with a medical reportedly now being scheduled.
Frimpong to be announced before Monday
With Leverkusen concluding their Bundesliga season this weekend, Frimpong’s departure is all but confirmed.
“Sources close to Liverpool believe a full agreement with Leverkusen could be concluded by the weekend,” reads a report in TBR Football.
Liverpool are in action against Brighton on Monday night and the players could be heading into that game with the boost of knowing a new signing is on his way.
Frimpong can be a problem-solver for Slot, capable of playing wing-back, right midfield and even right wing.

What he is not is an orthodox full-back, nor a hybrid right-back /midfielder hybrid in the style of Trent. His signing means the Reds will need to redraw their plans but now that his signing is imminent, Arne Slot can get going on his new blueprint.
