One club is ready to let their star talent go and have opened the door for him to join Liverpool.

Richard Hughes probably did not anticipate having to sign a forward in the January window, but Alexander Isak's injury has necessitated the need for Liverpool to increase their depth.

Antoine Semenyo's addition would have been ideal. He can play as a winger but has also played as a no.9 in the past, which meant he could have filled in for that role as well.

Unfortunately, he's heading to Manchester City so Liverpool now have to rely on Hugo Ekitike and Hugo Ekitike alone. He's been fantastic and has been one of the Reds' best players this season.

The only concern with relying on him alone is that he could easily pick-up an injury because of the amount of minutes he will have to play, and in an ideal world you want to give him a rest.

So, Hughes needs to explore alternative options in the market.

This attacker doesn't need to be a big name, it could just be a project player. A youngster with a lot of potential who could come in and take some of the load off of Ekitike's shoulders but when Isak returns, he could take on the role of an understudy.

And the perfect profile for this could be Robinio Vaz. The 18-year-old French forward has everything to be a superstar. He's currently playing for Marseille in Ligue 1 and has made seven goal contributions for the club in just 510 minutes spent on the pitch.

That's an average of a goal or assist every 73 minutes.

What's impressive is that most of his goal contributions have come off the bench for Marseille, which has earned him the moniker: 'super-sub' in France.

Vaz is everything Slot looks for in an attacker. He's quick, technically brilliant. He can take players on, link-up with his teammates and he works a lot off the ball.

He averages around three recoveries in the opponent's half per 90 minutes during his senior career and he has also completed 73% of his dribble attempts.

Vaz can play on the left if he needs to be, so Liverpool can accommodate Ekitike and Isak potentially in the same line-up. But ultimately, Vaz is just an exciting prospect.

He reminds one of Ekitike when he was breaking through at Reims and making an impact in front of goal, while also producing solid defensive numbers off the ball.

Vaz feels like the next Ekitike and Liverpool should strike now, before someone else snaps him up and his value quadruples.

Especially because the door has been opened for Vaz to move clubs in the January window. Marseille have pretty much green lit him to make a transfer.

According to Foot Mercato Marseille are open to listening to offers for Vaz and willing to let him go for the right price in this window.

The report claims Vaz has interest in the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

It doesn't specify which clubs are interested but Liverpool has to be one of the clubs. He's exactly what Slot needs. He's the perfect profile for the club. The perfect player to take the weight off of Ekitike's shoulders.
