Liverpool get confirmation over £100m signing
Liverpool have gotten confirmation that a perfect £100m signing will be available to them. Now it's a waiting game.
Liverpool have broken their transfer record this summer by signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for £100m. And they're set to do so again.
The Reds have their eyes on Alexander Isak, who is busy trying to force his way out of Newcastle United. He appears to be getting his way, too.

And if Isak does indeed leave Newcastle, Liverpool are poised to break the British transfer record to get him. A historic summer, then, as the Reds overhaul their squad.
But there is still work to be done and anyone watching the first two games of the season can see it. Liverpool's midfield isn't quite clicking together.
The return of Ryan Gravenberch will help but Liverpool lack a more combative midfielder in there. Wataru Endo is that to an extent, though the no.3 isn't exactly a first-XI regular.
That's the next area for Liverpool to go-big on, then. And now they've got confirmation that there's a chance.
Carlos Baleba is still there
Carlos Baleba is a player Liverpool have had their eyes on for around a year now. But they're far from the only ones.
He's one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League, after all. Actually, he's just one of the best midfielders full stop.
Baleba can just about do it all and is among the top midfielders for tackling, dribbling, passing, shooting...
A true all-rounder and exactly the kind of player Liverpool would want to sign. However, they're not in any financial position to sign him this summer if they're aiming for Isak.
The trouble, then, is that Manchester United have been eager to sign him. They've been willing to pay Brighton an awful lot of money to get a deal done this summer.
But they've failed. The BBC are among those reporting that a deal is completely off as Brighton don't want to sell this summer.
It's the situation we were hoping for. Brighton reportedly have an eye on selling Baleba in 2026 for £100m, right when Liverpool would be in the market for a midfielder of exactly his profile.
This is confirmation that he will be available to them right when it appeared United were going to remove him from the table. We really, really think this is one to watch over the next year, then.
Because Baleba would be everything Liverpool need in the middle. And now it can happen.
