Liverpool on the brink of INSANE Mohamed Salah decision

Liverpool face a massive decision on the future of Mohamed Salah as they look to rediscover last season’s title-winning form.

The Reds once again failed to win on Wednesday night, drawing 1-1 at Anfield against newly promoted Sunderland, and pressure continues to mount on Arne Slot.

For the second game in a row, and for the fourth time this season, Salah found himself on the bench and questions are now being asked about the Egyptian’s future on Merseyside.

After not featuring against West Ham and failing to make much of an impact off the bench on Wednesday night, a former Liverpool captain has made their thoughts clear on the 33-year-old.

Jamie Redknapp only sees one outcome for Salah

Speaking on Sky Sports after Wednesday’s match, former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp discussed the long-term consequences of leaving Salah, who signed a colossal new deal last season, on the bench.

"As good as Salah has been, everything comes to an end,” Redknapp explained. "It does feel that something has to give. There is no way that Mo Salah is going to be content to be a bit-part player.”

The Egyptian King was the Premier League’s top goalscorer and assist provider in Slot’s debut season at Anfield, starting all 38 league games, but there has been a clear shift in the Dutchman’s plans for his star forward.

Redknapp revealed he believes the trust has now been broken between Slot and Salah and that now it looks like the Egyptian's exit is guaranteed.

"Whether it is in January or in the summer...I can only see [Salah leaving].”

Is Salah’s Liverpool exit imminent?

Although selling Salah seemed unthinkable at the start of the season, that prospect is now edging closer to reality.

With just five goals and three assists in his opening 19 appearances, the Premier League Golden Boot winner is yet to reach the heights he has shown in previous seasons.

Interest from Saudi Pro League sides and the MLS reportedly remains strong and, after breaking the bank last summer, Richard Hughes might be keen to cash in on Salah whilst he still can.

There will only be one season remaining on the 33-year-old's contract after the current campaign and, with the team already in a state of transition, it could be time to make the previously unthinkable decision to sell Mo Salah.
