And the LaLiga leaders are not going to be able to sign players this summer until sales are made. Until then, links to Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez - and others - are far-fetched.

But there are several first-team stars at Camp Nou who could certainly be of interest to Liverpool. In fact Fermin Lopez has been linked with the Reds since the start of the year.

Fermin Lopez on Liverpool radar

The 22-year-old midfielder is multi-faceted, capable of playing anywhere across the middle of the pitch.

This season he’s got four goals and four assists from only 10 league starts - and had an effort disallowed in controversial circumstances against Real Madrid on Sunday.

The lack of game-time afforded to the La Masia prospect has proven to be a source of frustration, with Fermin ready to consider his future at the club.

It was reported previously that the Spain international REJECTED a move to Atletico Madrid in the hope of arriving at Anfield instead this summer.

He could prove to be a useful addition for Arne Slot, being able to cover for Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister - as well as Mohamed Salah if required.

Barca would sell Fermin Lopez for €60m

And now comes news from Catalonia that the club are ready to listen to offers for Fermin this summer.

With interest materialising from Saudi Arabia, Barca Blaugranes states that the soon-to-be Spanish champions will accept €60m to let go of their midfield schemer.

“The club has no intention of letting him go for less than €60 million, aware that Fermín has become one of the most marketable players on the squad,” a report states.

Fermin, described as a "treasure" by previous coach Xavi, has got a contract at Barca until 2029, appearing in 43 matches overall this season.

Liverpool need a solution in the creativity department - with Trent Alexander-Arnold decamping for Real Madrid - and Euro 2024 winner Fermin could be the man to provide it.
