Liverpool are set to make big changes in the left-back spot next summer.

Milos Kerkez, 22, arrived from Bournemouth following the 2024/25 Premier League title-winning campaign and looks set to be the Reds’ left-back for the years ahead.

The Hungarian took the place of Andy Robertson in the first-team lineup while the decision was also made to loan out Kostas Tsimikas to Roma.

Robertson, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season and at this stage it looks unlikely that he will be offered a new deal.

Tsimikas, 29, has a contract which extends to 2027 but the club will be expecting offers for the Greek international this summer and would not want to lose him for nothing.

That means a place will open up in Arne Slot’s squad for a senior arrival - and the club have been told by one Premier League mainstay that Anfield is his preferred destination.

Antonee Robinson wants to join Liverpool

Antonee Robinson, 28, is wanted in a £25m deal by Manchester United in the off-season. But the United States international would rather move to Liverpool - according to a report in TEAMtalk.

“The Fulham star wants to join Liverpool and play at Anfield,” the report reads.

The same report claims that Liverpool have indeed registered interest in the Fulham player ahead of the summer transfer window opening.

“Liverpool are planning a raid on Fulham for Robinson in the summer transfer window,” it states.

Changes coming to Liverpool left-back spot

Robinson has been on Liverpool’s radar for quite some time - even mentioned as a Robertson replacement before Kerkez joined last summer.

Under contract until 2028 the former Everton youngster has endured a difficult season owing to knee problems - but on his day remains one of the finest attacking left-backs in the top flight.

It remains to be seen whether Arne Slot and Richard Hughes have placed question marks against Kerkez - or whether they are simply trying to fortify the left-back position.

We’ve seen a plethora of left-sided defenders linked in recent weeks - including Nathaniel Brown and Federico Dimarco. Preparations are being made for the post-Andy Robertson era - and Liverpool are now in the frame for Robinson.
