Liverpool may well go back into the transfer market for attacking reinforcements.

Although the club spent big over the summer on the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, there remains the possibility of further additions in January or beyond.

Sporting director Richard Hughes is set to begin the process of replacing Mohamed Salah in 2026 - although the Egyptian King’s contract expires in 2027.

And over on the other side of the attack, an upgrade for Cody Gakpo could well be sourced.

Semenyo set to solve Liverpool attacking issues

Although the Dutchman won the fight with Luis Diaz, left wing remains a problem position for Arne Slot - who is affording little to no game time to Rio Ngumoha.

One player who could solve both issues is Antoine Semenyo. The Bournemouth winger is capable of playing either side of the attack - as well as attacking midfield - and has been in sparkling form for the Cherries this season.

The 25-year-old is well known to Hughes, who signed him as Bournemouth’s technical director from Bristol City for only £10m back in 2023.

Semenyo is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until 2030 having renewed his contract over the summer - and there is a big transfer clamour now expected for his signature.

Liverpool in four-way battle for Semenyo

The Ghana international is a player in demand and Liverpool will be hoping the Hughes connection helps get the deal over the line.

But the Anfield club are set to be joined by three MORE Premier League heavyweights in the chase for Semenyo according to a new report in Fichajes.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham have all got plans to add Semenyo to the attack - with Spurs coming close to signing him last summer.

Semenyo can play left and right side of attack

“The Bournemouth player's immediate future will depend on concrete offers arriving in January, but several giants are certainly ready to make a move. Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Tottenham create a highly competitive landscape where every detail counts,” the report reads.

Semenyo got off to a flying start this season - scoring twice against Liverpool at Anfield - and netted six in his first seven games of the campaign.

His form has levelled off in the last few weeks - as Andoni Iraola’s side have struggled for results - but there is no doubt that he would add something fresh to the Reds’ attack.
