Liverpool to get GREEN light for blockbuster £50m+ agreement

Liverpool will reportedly have the chance to complete a major transfer next year. It's one we're really hoping they make.

Liverpool will certainly re-enter the transfer market in 2026, despite their incredible spend this year. And it's not just because their summer signings have not worked out thus far.

The Reds twice broke their transfer record in an attempt to improve further on a title-winning team. Instead, things have gone backwards and it's increasingly clear that this group does not work for the system it was intended for.

But more than that, Liverpool have some experienced stars who will not play at the top level for much longer. Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah are at the top of that particular list.

Replacing the pair will be near-impossible and there must be an understanding that Liverpool decline a touch without them. Still, finding the right players to take their positions is vital and the search will already be underway.

For Salah, the ideal player might even be clear. He'll certainly be available.

Antoine Semenyo is available

We're massive fans of Antoine Semenyo after Liverpool were linked with the Bournemouth star this season. The winger is having a fantastic season and looks to have kicked on a level - now the question is whether there's another level to him yet, potentially moving Semenyo into the elite bracket.

What's obvious is that he's the perfect winger for Liverpool. Now, he'd actually be the perfect winger for plenty of clubs but the Reds are one who will undoubtedly be on the lookout for a new top-class winger.

It seems we sort of know the price-tag, too. The Telegraph has reported that Bournemouth rejected bids of around £50m from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the summer.

Given Semenyo's early-season form, it's easy to assume that he'd now cost a fair way north of that. Maybe not quite £100m - but we'll see how the rest of the season goes.

And that's all very relevant as the Telegraph report also makes it clear that Semenyo is 'likely' to be sold next summer. The green light will be given to buying teams, even if the price-tag will be high.

Liverpool have their chance to sign Semenyo, then, should they decide he's the one to replace Salah as a star winger in the squad. They've got a few more months to figure that out.
