He's COMING: £70m England midfielder wants Liverpool deal
Liverpool completed a landmark summer transfer window - adding around £450m worth of talent.
Among those players acquired were Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak - who came on board for a pair of British record fees.

Sporting director Richard Hughes facilitated upgrades in almost every position - at both full-back positions, centre-back, on the wings and up top.

But one area that didn’t feature any new arrivals was centre midfield.
Ryan Gravenberch carried a heavy burden last season in the No6 position - and he was ably supported in the middle third by Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones.
Wharton emerging as Liverpool option
Wataru Endo also earned his medal having eventually won over Arne Slot. And now reports are growing that Liverpool WILL make improvements in that sector during transfer windows upcoming.
Anfieldwatch has brought you news of interest in Mikel Jauregizar, Nico Gonzalez and Samuele Ricci - but all three of those ended up moving elsewhere.
It appears there is a new frontrunner to arrive and provide competition for Gravenberch - as well as increase the Reds’ options in midfield.
Adam Wharton, 21, has been a revelation since joining Crystal Palace from Blackburn back in February 2024. Signed for an initial £18m, Wharton impressed so much that he was included in the England squad for Euro 2024.
Wharton prefers Liverpool
Now established as one of the finest midfield orchestrators in the Premier League - it won’t be long until the elegant left-footer moves on to bigger and better things.
Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea would all dearly love to recruit Wharton but according to a new report the player has his eyes firmly fixed on Anfield for his next move.
“Adam Wharton race heating up,” writes transfer insider Ekrem Konur on X.
“Manchester United, Liverpool & Chelsea are all chasing the England international ahead of January.
“Crystal Palace want £60–70M, but Wharton prefers Liverpool. Real Madrid also monitoring.”
Reds should strike deal for England star
Having spent close to half a billion in summer it would be unrealistic to drop another fortune in January but Hughes has proven that when the right deal is on offer then Liverpool won’t be afraid to act.
If it means getting in ahead of Madrid, Chelsea, Man Utd et al, then we could see Wharton’s prospective Liverpool deal accelerated.
And now that it’s been claimed that the playmaker WANTS a move to Merseyside, it’s up to Hughes and the other influential figures at the club to put together a sufficient package for Palace to sell.
