Liverpool star is FINALLY back

One of Liverpool's stars of last season is finally back playing at his best level.

This season hasn't been easy for Arne Slot. So far he's had to contend with transfer sagas looming over his head during the beginning of the campaign and also putting together almost an entirely new team.

On top of all of that, he's been tasked with replacing the impact of the best creative player in the Premier League.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's loss has been something not so much talked about in Liverpool circles. Understandably, so. After the way he left the club no one really wants to be thinking about him.

He's an ex you kind of just want to get out of your mind. At the same time thoughts of them haunt your every memory.

This is how it feels like watching Liverpool at the moment. You know what the problem is, you know the missing part, but you don't want to admit it.

In fairness, Liverpool have an answer, and they had an answer to Alexander-Arnold when he was absent last season.

His name was Conor Bradley. For the last few seasons now, he's been making his way up the ranks and proving to everyone he's very much capable of being a first-choice right-back at Anfield.

But this season hasn't started in the way Bradley would have wanted. He missed a part of pre-season due to injury which meant he also missed the first couple of games.

When he came back, Dominik Szoboszlai had become Liverpool's first-choice right-back and Bradley hadn't really been given a proper run out in the team ever since.

That's meant that every time he has played he has been lacking in match fitness and not quite at his best.

It's why the international break where he is guaranteed playing time with Northern Ireland has come at such a good time for him.

Bradley is probably his country's most important player, which means he's going to be playing most games and likely 90 minutes in those games as well.

That was the case in a crucial game against Slovakia where Bradley showed that his finally back playing at the highest level possible.

Bradley produced a masterclass in the game, completing the most dribbles (5) and winning the most duels (14) in a 2-0 victory for his side that gives them hope of qualifying for the World Cup.

It's the kind of performance Arne Slot will have really enjoyed watching. The kind of performance that may mean Bradley will be able to start games again and help us forget all about that Trent void.
