This is only natural. Arne Slot and Richard Hughes were always going to make their own stamp on Liverpool.

They took a year assessing their options and now they are working on putting together a squad that is capable of competing at the very highest level for a decade to come.

That's why Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have been brought in and that's why Liverpool will be looking to complete a deal for Milos Kerkez as well.

Meanwhile, they've already prepared for the future with two brilliant additions in goal who could replace Alisson Becker in Giorgi Mamardashvili and Armin Pecsi.

But it's not just players where Liverpool are bringing in exciting new faces.

Behind the scenes in the backroom staff there are already some really exciting arrivals as well.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is set to be appointed as Arne Slot's assistant in what is a major coup. Van Bronckhorst won the Champions League as a player and he comes with a really impressive resume as a manager.

Before Slot, he was the last manager to win the Eredivisie league title with Feyenoord and he also led Rangers to the Europa League final.

The fact that Liverpool managed to get a manager of this calibre to be an assistant speaks volumes of what the Reds are building behind the scenes.

And after Van Bronckhorst they have pulled off another coup.

Liverpool's official website confirmed the appointment of Rob Page as the club's U21 manager. He will replace the departing Barry Lewtas and this is another genius appointment.

In Page, Liverpool are bringing someone to the U21 team with a lot of experience as a manager at senior level. In fact, for Wales he became the first manager in 64 years to help the country qualify to the World Cup.

Page of course had his critics at times, too. Towards the end of his time, he didn't quite have the right squad and was competing in the UEFA Nations League A division, where he had to face a lot better teams on the international stage.

That will be different with Liverpool. His track record working with Wales' young players is impressive. The likes of Neco Williams, Brennan Johnson and many more were integrated into Wales' senior team under Page.

His playing style is also something that he couldn't quite fully employ at Wales, but again should be able to do at Liverpool's U21 team.

As per his Wikipedia page, his preferred tactics include 'attacking full-backs playing high up the pitch, a defensive midfielder allied to a more attacking central midfielder, and pace in the forward positions and on the wings.'

This is how Liverpool want to play under Slot in the first team, so on paper the Reds could not have brought in a better manager for the U21 team.
