Liverpool are making moves to agree a £75m transfer in the January transfer window.

Even though Richard Hughes brought in a lot of new additions over the course of the summer, the Reds' squad is not there yet.

While a lot of players have come in, a lot of players have also left. It means there are certain profiles Liverpool are still missing.

Among them centre-backs will be a priority. But in truth Liverpool probably need a holding midfielder and a right-back as well.

There's also a big void on the flanks. Currently, Liverpool do not have anyone who excels in one vs one situations. This is essential for the success of any team.

Last season Paris Saint Germain were full of flair en route to the Champions League final and averaged the most successful take-ons per 90 minutes (11.7) in the entire competition.

So there's a clear merit to have players who can take on opponents.

This is where Antoine Semenyo comes in. Last season and this season (so far) he's been one of the best when it comes to take-ons in the Premier League.

At 25-years-old, he's entering his prime years and he's starting to have a real end product as well with nine goal contributions already for Bournemouth this season - more than anyone in the Liverpool team right now.

Hughes was the one who brought Semenyo to Bournemouth spotting him catching the eye at Bristol City and the rest is history.

The Ghanian has become a real sensation at the Cherries, where he signed a new contract extension in the summer.

But Bournemouth will be realistic. They will know that sooner or later, they are going to lose Semenyo to a bigger club. Just as they had lost Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Ilya Zabarnyi.

Liverpool seems like the perfect next destination for Semenyo, and right now things are really speeding up.

There's been discussions about how Liverpool are preparing a potential January move, and that Semenyo wants to join the Reds.

Now the Daily Mail have reported that Bournemouth would be willing to agree to a transfer of around £75m.

At that price range, this is a no brainer for Liverpool. £75m for someone of Semenyo's ilk in this modern age is a bargain.

Given Hughes has connections to Bournemouth and undoubtedly the player as well, it's a move that makes sense.

On the pitch, Semenyo is someone who can take Arne Slot's attack to the next level. The prospect of him linking up with the likes of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak is simply mouth-watering.

January is not far away now and this is something to keep a close eye on as the window approaches.
