They are on course to win another Premier League title - the club's second in five years. And they have done it with ease.

Behind the scenes, Liverpool are also working on big plans to build for the future and truly kick start this new era with Michael Edwards, Richard Hughes and Arne Slot all working in tandem together.

This means new signings coming in during the summer transfer window. It means FSG moving towards a multi-club model and Liverpool being able to sign stars of the future.

It's an exciting time. This new era will see Liverpool enter the modern footballing realm and it will ensure Slot has the basis to continue succeed at the club for years and years to come.

Under the new multi-club model, Liverpool will not have to wait around to sign young players when they are ready for the first team.

Instead, Michael Edwards can snap up some of the biggest talents in the world at a much younger age and for a much younger price.

It remains to be seen just who FSG will buy, but right now Anfield Watch understands the club's ownership is most actively pursuing options in France, even though a mooted move has been suggested for Malaga CF.

Buying another club will ensure Edwards' team will be able to offer young players a direct pathway into senior football. This would not immediately be at Liverpool but the prospective club FSG end up buying that would offer a bridge between a youngster's current club and Liverpool.

One of the first signings of this new era could be Obli Kouame. Liverpool are reportedly very interested in the Ivorian centre-back who caught the eye at the U17 African Cup of Nations this month.

Kouame contested 25 defensive duels at the tournament and impressively won 24 of them. There were three games he played in which he didn't lose a single duel.

In this sense there are shades of Ibrahima Konate about him, because the Frenchman also excels at winning those important defensive duels week in, week out.

Kouame is also quick and makes 13 recovery runs on average every 90 minutes. He reads the game well and he is very comfortable on the ball.

Importantly, he always looks to play the ball forward. Impressively, over 50% of his passes were forward passes in the competition, which is a really high volume and just goes to show the type of player he is.

He's currently contracted to FC Mouna and he will only be able to join Liverpool in just under two years when he turns 18-years-old in December 2026.

But it seems like Liverpool are ready to strike an agreement to bring him to the club if they are scouting him already and there is the possibility of getting an early deal over the line in place ready to become active when he celebrates his 18th birthday.
