Liverpool are reportedly in position to make a €40m signing. It's not a deal the selling club wants to make, however.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims Juventus may be forced to sell Khephren Thuram this summer. They’re desperate not to sell the Frenchman but failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League will almost certainly necessitate a major sale.

Clubs are now aware of that situation and it’s prompted Liverpool into position. Thuram is a player they’ve been linked with for a very long time and this could be a fantastic opportunity to land him.

Thuram has the added benefit of already proving he can move to a new country and thrive. He’s been one of Juventus’s very best players of recent times and anyone who can land him is getting a real coup.

After all, Juventus don’t want to sell. It would be a heartbreaking blow for them to lose the player, given his development since arriving in Turin.

It would also be a sign of just how far they’ve fallen over the last few years. Liverpool, though, are prepared to take advantage of that as they rebuild their midfield.

Khephren Thuram: Situation Summary

Juventus Performance and Role

Khéphren Thuram has established himself as a dynamic presence in the Juventus midfield since his arrival from Nice in the summer of 2024. Operating primarily as a box-to-box midfielder under Thiago Motta, the Frenchman has utilized his unique blend of physical power and technical elegance to drive the Bianconeri forward. By late March 2026, he has become an undisputed starter, providing the necessary transition play that links the defence to the attack. His ability to recover possession and progress the ball through tight spaces has been vital in Juventus's pursuit of the Serie A title and their deep run in European competition this season.

International Status and Market Value

Thuram’s consistent displays in Turin have seen him become a regular fixture in Didier Deschamps’ France squad as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup. His rise in stature has naturally led to renewed interest from the Premier League, with Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly monitoring his situation. However, Juventus views him as a non-transferable asset and a pillar of their long-term project. With a contract running until 2029, his market value is currently estimated at well over €60 million, making any potential summer move highly complicated for suitor clubs.
