Arne Slot has seemingly made up his mind on Mohamed Salah - the Liverpool forward who carried his side to Premier League glory last season.

Salah hit 29 goals and 18 assists across the top-flight term - etching his name in the history books with the most remarkable individual season of all time.

But the 33-year-old is struggling for form this term - with only four Premier League goals - and was dropped out of the lineup for two games in succession.

Salah loses status as automatic starter

Slot left the Egyptian King on the bench for the Premier League games at West Ham and at home against Sunderland.

Although he came off the bench against the Mackems - it certainly feels as though Salah’s fate is sealed under this head coach.

Heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations in just over a week, the Liverpool legend’s days may well appear numbered.

Indeed a report in Caught Offside claims the two-time African footballer of the year is now unhappy at Liverpool and ready to consider his future as soon as January.

Al-Hilal and Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League as well as Egyptian-owned San Diego FC in MLS have all got plans to make Salah their new star signing in the new year.

Liverpool players feel they're better without Salah

And according to the same report, Liverpool’s players have now made their minds up on Salah too.

“The rest of the LFC team feel Salah being out of the team might be helping the overall balance of the side,” the report reads.

It’s been left to Dominik Szoboszlai to occupy the right flank on the occasions Slot has left Salah out - and others including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Federico Chiesa may also get a chance on the wing while Salah is in Morocco with the Pharaohs.

Sadly it looks like the £400k per week forward is stuck in a Liverpool tailspin and it remains to be seen whether he will ever get back on top.

Salah is under contract until 2027 but he may end up cutting his stint at Anfield short and leaving a year earlier instead.
