Liverpool now want one of the most prolific Premier League attackers
Liverpool are reportedly interested in one of the most prolific Premier League forwards.
It's fairly obvious at this stage that Richard Hughes wants to bring in more offensive threat over the course of the next summer window.
Liverpool invested heavily in the transfer market to buy some big marquee attackers last summer. That was a huge necessity because of who was leaving the club.
Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak were just the beginning of Liverpool's investment and attacking rebuild.
Yan Diomande could be the next step in their evolution, but Liverpool have more reinforcements prepared.
Hughes will likely need to add two more attackers at the very least, potentially even more if Mo Salah leaves.
And who better to sign that one of the most prolific forwards in the entire competition.
This season has been a poor campaign for attackers in the Premier League all around. Everyone's numbers are down and that's because attacks have turned into defences.
A lot of teams play very conservative football with little risk, and that odesn't necessarily favour attackers.
Few players have really shone in that department. At Liverpool, Hugo Ekitike has done well and proved he was a bargain. Elsewhere, Erling Haaland has also been brilliant.
Joao Pedro and Benjamin Sesko have shone in flashes.
But probably the best attacking signing of the season was not made by one of the big clubs. It was Bournemouth who managed to bring Eli Junior Kroupi to the Cherries.
Kroupi has become one of the most prolific attackers in the entire league. He ranks third in the league for goals per 90 minutes with an average of 0.68, only behind Erling Haaland and Lukas Nmecha.
Now there is a report in Telefoot as per GFFN that Liverpool are among the clubs who are interested in him. Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain are the other two, so his suitors are very much the elite teams in Europe right now.
And that should not be a surprise. Bournemouth have become a hotbed for big European teams over the course of the last year or so with all three of those clubs making at least one signing from the Cherries.
Kroupi seems like the next big thing. He's incredibly prolific and he has a great sense of awareness for the goal.
Still only 19-years-old, he's got a long way to go in his career but if he keeps going there is a very bright future there.
One that could make him the ideal option for Liverpool this summer. You could easily envisage him as the third striker behind Ekitike and Isak in the pecking order.
He's the perfect option to replace Federico Chiesa.
