Liverpool now in for ELITE Premier League star

Liverpool are now in for one of the brightest stars in the Premier League. Will they see off all the competition, though?

The transfer window opens in around two weeks' time and Liverpool will have to get some more business done. We can't imagine that was the plan after spending £400m in the summer but here we are.

The reality is that the transfers didn't work. Liverpool overhauled a title-winning squad but failed to put together a group that really works together.

Exactly how expensive that mistake will prove to be is one for the future. Right now, the club need to piece a slightly different puzzle together and see if it fits.

That means moving on some players but also bringing in new players in January. Their planning for that is underway - and they've reportedly set their sights on one Premier League star.

Liverpool want Daniel Munoz

Daniel Munoz has been one of the best full-backs in the Premier League over the last few years. He might well be the best right-back in the league right now.

And at 29, Munoz really only has one more move in him before he's no longer at the peak of his powers. It's now or never, in other words.

There's a real sense that he'll move in 2026, then, with plenty of interest around him. Even his compatriots are pushing for him to move clubs - specifically to Liverpool, funnily enough.

Now CaughtOffside reports that the Reds have joined the race for Munoz. They do that alongside Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, though.

Munoz isn't an easy one to sign, then. And at 29, teams will need to think long and hard about this one. He'd need to be an instant hit for it to be worth it.

Liverpool are usually hesitant to move for players at that age and so we find this one a little hard to believe. At the same time, maybe a move for an experienced player in his prime is the right move as the Reds look to steady the ship.
