Liverpool make first move for their NEXT Mo Salah

Liverpool need to find their next Mo Salah and it sounds like they might have done it. An approach has been made.

Mo Salah hasn’t been himself this season. There are a few probable reasons for that - tiredness being one of them. Salah played a lot of football last season, after all, and played it to an incredible level.

But he’s also in a team where virtually no one is playing well. It’s incredibly difficult to perform well in a team that isn’t functioning properly - as we’re seeing across the board with Liverpool.

Regardless of whether you believe Salah will recapture his form, though, the Reds need to think about his successor. The Egyptian only has one year left on his contract after this season and it feels unlikely that he’ll get a new deal after that - not as the star player of the team, anyway.

So the future must be in mind. Ideally, Liverpool would bring in his successor at least a year before Salah leaves. They might actually be on that, too.

Liverpool approach for Yan Diomande

Liverpool have made an approach for Yan Diomande, according to Sky Sports. The 19-year-old has been making waves since breaking into the setup at Leganés last season.

That earned him a move to RB Leipzig in the summer but 'bigger' clubs are already sniffing around for a potential deal. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are two of them pushing forward with approaches.

Diomande, who plays on the right, does feel quite destined to be a star. He's already one of the best dribblers in Europe, or at least has been over the last year, and any team that feels they can add regular end product will be interested.

The Ivorian will hope to make an impact at the AFCON in 2026 and if he does, Leipzig may feel a lot of pressure to sell for big money. Liverpool would certainly be in that group hoping to pay it - Diomande does look like someone who could hold down a role on the right for a long, long time.

And that's what the Reds need post-Salah. They don't want to move into a situation where they're unsure what to do on the right. They want to make sure they have a regular plan with a player, someone who could slot right into the role seamlessly.

Diomande might be that player.
