Liverpool make €43m offer for African international

Liverpool have reportedly sent in an offer worth up to €43m to sign an international star. January is only around the corner, after all.

Liverpool will have little choice but to make moves in the January transfer window. That was always going to be the case after Giovanni Leoni's injury and things have only gotten worse.

The team's form means something has to change. Liverpool are desperate for new ideas right now and it's as clear as day that the current group doesn't really work together.

On top of that, Mo Salah's future has never been in more doubt. It feels quite likely that he leaves in the winter - so what should the club do from there?

Well, it seems Liverpool are already making their first moves to reshape the squad in January. Moves that would absolutely bring improvement.

Liverpool bid for Wilfried Singo

Foot Sur in France and Fotomac in Turkey both report that Liverpool have offered a deal worth a potential €43m to sign Wilfriend Singo from Galatasaray.

The defender only moved there from AS Monaco in the summer for around €30m but it appears Liverpool feel the Turkish giants will cash in quickly. Singo, capable of playing centre-back or right-back, would undoubtedly boost the Reds' defensive numbers.

He's not quite 25, either, meaning Liverpool would get a player with plenty of years left but also enough experience to step right into things. That's essentially exactly what the Reds are looking for right now.

The injury to Leoni has left them short, while the need for Joe Gomez to cover right-back has left Liverpool with just two centre-back options over the last few weeks. Singo would offer another - while also allowing cover at right-back.

€43m though? It would be an initial €28m, which is certainly easier to understand, but it would end up being quite an investment for a player from the Turkish league.

But as the Reds look to find options for the rest of the season, they'll want to search everywhere.
