Liverpool are reportedly lining up the most perfect move to replace Alexis Mac Allister.

The Argentine was a fan favourite last season. However, his stock has fallen at Anfield over the course of the last few months.

Now as Liverpool are in talks with both Dominik Szoboszlai have extended Ryan Gravenberc's contract, Mac Allister has become the outsider.

Even though he's on the same length of contract as the aforementioned duo, talk of his extension do not appear to be as big of a priority for Liverpool.

That could be a huge hint of where Liverpool stand. Especially with Real Madrid also being very keen on signing the Argentine.

Given the direction Liverpool seem to be heading towards, a player like Mac Allister, who isn't the quickest and who isn't necessarily the most progressive midfielder, is a luxury problem. For whom the club cannot afford to turn down a big offer.

But if Mac Allister leaves, who could replace him? Is there even anyone good enough to come into Liverpool’s midfield right now?

The answer is, yes. There’s someone Liverpool are already lining up to sign who could be an incredible replacement and a genius deal for the club.

According to Ekrem Konur writing on X, Liverpool are now considering a move to sign AS Monaco's Lamina Camara this summer.

Remember the last midfielder Liverpool signed from Monaco? That's right it was Fabinho.

Well, Camara is equally as exciting as the Brazilian and he's actually been on our radar for a long time. We wrote this piece about him in December 2024.

Camara is a mix between Martin Zubimendi and Moises Caicedo in terms of his deep-lying creative abilities and intensity off the ball.

He's not as defensively strong as Caicedo but he is still a very solid defender. At the same time, he's also a brilliant technical player who can make fantastic forward passes and who deals well under pressure.

He showcased his qualities at the African Cup of Nations starting in the final for Senegal and making several key defensive contributions during the game.

His slide tackle to prevent a shot in the first-half was hugely important to keep the score 0-0 and allow Senegal to later win the game.

At 22-years-old, this was a tremendous performance. Camara was one of the youngest players on the pitch but he showed so much quality and in the process he confirmed that he is definitely ready to make a move to a club like Liverpool, simply because he is exactly what the Reds are missing.

Then since coming back at AS Monaco, he's been on another level. Camara caught the eye against Paris Saint Germain recently, helping his side to a 3-1 victory at the weekend winning the most duels (10) and the most tackles (4) on the pitch.

Camara's reading of the game. His energy to disrupt defences and his bravery to commit to challenges is the type of midfielder Liverpool don't really have right now.

He's not the tallest but he makes up for it with his speed and his bravery. Camara can stand his ground in physical challenges and on top of that he has brilliant technique.

Ultimately, he's the perfect package for Liverpool and a genius choice to replace Mac Allister because he is everything the Argentine isn't.
