Liverpool might be lining up a new move for a right-back.

As we all know the Reds have struggled to find the right solution in the position this season. We've seen Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley struggle at times. We've also seen them play really well.

And we've also seen Dominik Szoboszlai playing in the position and providing cover when Slot opted to choose neither of his other options.

Calvin Ramsay has emerged as an underdog, too. His brilliant performance against Crystal Palace in the League Cup was the only silver lining on a bleak night for Liverpool.

But while the Reds are still figuring things out, the possibility of new additions cannot be ruled out.

Liverpool lost Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer and his absence has left a gaping void in the team. There's talk of the Reds changing systems as well, and potentially opting to a back three, which may suit different profile of a right-back.

So, naturally Richard Hughes will be trying to ponder and figure all this out with his recruitment team. Undoubtedly they are having conversations with Slot about it as we speak.

And it seems like they have also made their first move.

According to a report in Turkey by Sabah, Liverpool scouts travelled to watch Wilfried Singo of Galatasaray in his Champions League encounter against Ajax recently.

Now the Reds' scouts were not the only one in attendance and while Singo was playing, they will have also had an interest on Liverpool loanee James McConnell.

But Singo is an interesting name. It's a name that makes sense. Especially, if Liverpool are to change systems and move to a back three, or opt to allow Milos Kerkez a more offensive role on the left-flank.

That's because Singo is a different sort of profile to Frimpong and Bradley. He's a lot more defensive orientated and he prefers to stay deeper.

The Ivorian impressed against Liverpool with his ability to contain the Reds' attack and function in a rigid defence.

His best assets are his ability to pick the ball-up and progress it into the right areas. Singo will always look to play the ball forward and he is good at making line-breaking passes.

This is undoubtedly why he is on Liverpool's radar.

At 1.90 metres, his height also allows him to often be used as a centre-back in Galatasaray's system. It's a position he also played at Monaco, as part of a back three.

Given that experience and what Liverpool's purported plans might be, he fits the bill even more.

Obviously, considering he only just joined Galatasaray in the summer, he won't be cheap. The Turkish side will be reluctant to let him leave, especially after they have built such an impressive team with Victor Osimhen leading the line for them.

But the prospect of joining the Premier League would be an enticing one for any player. So, if the Reds do want him, they should be able to bring him to Anfield.
