Liverpool are looking to sign their new Mo Salah replacement ASAP, according to reports. The Egyptian is nearing the end of his deal.

Mo Salah is currently set to leave Liverpool. His contract expires at the end of the season and he's made it very clear that a new one isn't in his lap.

Not one he wants to sign, anyway. Liverpool are leading a serious delay on that front, with the Egyptian now frequently using the media to pile pressure on his club.

There is every chance, then, that nothing gets signed. Salah may well leave Liverpool at the end of this season, kickstarting a new chapter for both.

And that understandably has Liverpool considering their options to replace him. Someone will have that unenviable task, after all.

It could well be that the Reds want to get him in now, too.

Liverpool consider Leroy Sane

Football Insider reports that Liverpool are one of a few English clubs looking at Leroy Sane right now. Sane is out of contract in the summer and available on a free transfer.

However, the report suggests the English teams, including the Reds, are wanting him in January. This would be a cut-price deal for one of the more reputable wingers in Europe.

Bayern Munich are likely to sell, it seems, for the right offer. Liverpool could give them that.

And it's one that just about makes sense. Sane is capable of playing on both flanks and could thus cover Salah this season but also play alongside him. Then the German is in place to take over full-time in the summer, if/when Salah departs.

Though, we'd be surprised. Liverpool boast a plethora of forwards right now and there are strong denials that Federico Chiesa is on his way out.

Unless someone moves on, there simply isn't room to sign Sane this month. Perhaps we're missing something there but it doesn't quite add up.

Still, Sane is available for free in the summer and despite his poor form this season, Liverpool will almost certainly consider him. Just maybe not for a January move.
