Liverpool just one step away from Alexander Isak transfer
Liverpool are just one step away from making an Alexander Isak transfer happen.
There's no question that Alexander Isak is the dream signing for Liverpool this summer. They've been eyeing him up all season and for good reason.

Liverpool need a striker, after all. They couldn't find any consistency in the position across Arne Slot's first campaign in charge, despite trying all sorts of things.
And so they want to fix that. Darwin Nunez is fully expected to leave the club, with a new no.9 taking his place (and number).
Isak is the standout candidate there. He's in his prime, completely comfortable in the Premier League and fits the bill as an out-and-out, up-there-on-his-own centre-forward.
The mission to sign him is an incredibly difficult one, however. But it does appear that Liverpool are only one step from making it happen.

The Alexander Isak transfer
Three things need to happen to get a transfer done. Firstly, the player needs to want the move.
Now, that's apparently the case with Isak to Liverpool. The Daily Mail claimed this week that 'if he could join Liverpool, he would'.
So there's the very, very important bit done with.
Next, you need to be able to afford the player. Liverpool can certainly do that, with recent reports claiming the Reds have enough Premier League PSR room to spend another £200m.
Then there's the last bit: convincing the player's current club to accept an offer. Liverpool have the first two steps in the bag but this one is proving difficult.
Newcastle qualified for the UEFA Champions League, eliminating any desperation to sell this summer. At the same time, it does appear they could use a bit of help when it comes to getting deals done and a massive fee for Isak would certainly provide that.
That's their major decision to make, then, and Liverpool are simply waiting on it. The Reds have Isak's attention, they've got the money ready, now they just need Newcastle's approval.
That might come. It also may never arrive and Liverpool won't want to wait too long before moving on - the worst-case scenario is waiting for Isak, failing to get him, and then finding that all alternatives are off the market.
Similarly, Newcastle won't want to wait too long if they're going to give a 'yes'. They need time to actually spend any money they get for their star player, after all.

Hopefully, then, we're not all waiting too much longer for an answer.

Utter delusional tripe. He's NEVER said he wants to play at Anfield. He merely complemented the atmosphere stating he enjoyed playing against them as he gets opportunities to score. He's on record stating he loves everything about NUFC and is more than happy to remain there. He's about to be offered a blockbusting 5 year deal and is more than likely to sign off on it. Lastly, this circus was kicked off by Carragher who was fed up of the endless links with Isak going to Arsenal. He suggested Liverpool would be in the running if push ever came to shove and a whole industry of BS sprouted from his comment. If you believe anything written by the scribblers at The Mail then you'll be happy to know I have some bridges for sale.
😂🤡
Total fantasy. Isak is happy at Toon. NUFC took a chance on him. He gets fed by a player on the right who is unselfish. NUFC are in the CL and cup winners. The long term future at Newcastle is beating PSR then overhauling Man City’s success. Liverpool’s future is that they will never be able to replace generational players Salah and Van Dijk, and should have won far more PLs and CLs than they did with them.
