Liverpool in talks to seal surprise £10m deal with Rangers
Liverpool are closing in on another deal. The Reds are in talks with Rangers and getting closer to an agreement.
Liverpool have struck an incredible number of deals already this summer and they’re not slowing down. Florian Wirtz is the headline act, joining for a club-record fee from Bayer Leverkusen.
Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez arrive as new full-backs, while Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman are new goalkeepers. You can add Giorgi Mamardashvili to that group, though that deal was signed last summer.
Hugo Ekitike is expected to sign for Liverpool, too. The Frenchman will move from Eintracht Frankfurt, giving the Reds one of the most promising strikers in Europe.
Then there are the sales. Trent Alexander-Arnold has joined Real Madrid, while Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah both got moves away, too.
We all expect movement for both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez in the coming weeks on top of it all. And now there’s another to potentially add to that list.

Owen beck to Rangers?
DaveOCKOP reports that Liverpool are in talks with Rangers over Owen Beck. The Reds hope to seal a £10m deal here, though Rangers are trying to keep it down to £7m.
Beck only has one year left on his contract, though Liverpool would like to agree a new one before sending him back out on loan. That would certainly suggest that they see a bigger fee in his future if he has a good campaign.
Though, the player may prefer to depart permanently and end the succession of loans. No one would begrudge him that as Beck has been successful everywhere he’s gone.
And that’s why we’re calling this a surprise deal. Beck has proven more than enough to earn himself a decent Championship move, as far as we're concerned.
A £10m move to Rangers feels a little bit below his ability, in all honesty. There have been times where he looked like a genuine option as a squad player for Liverpool - heading to Scotland permanently looks like a step down.

Still, maybe he just wants something guaranteed. Beck would undoubtedly command a starting role there and perhaps that’s simply all he’s after at this stage.
Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.
