Liverpool handed boost in transfer chase for 'incredible' Premier League star
Arne Slot has crafted a Liverpool team that is full of talent.
And, even though things aren't really going their way at the moment, it's clear that among the Reds' ranks there's plenty of potential waiting to be fulfilled.
Players such as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike have proven themselves on more than one occasion, but, more often than not, their teammates have let them down.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo are two of the best examples of this with neither of them managing to meet expectations this season.
This lack of form has caused many questions to arise and has also meant that transfer rumours have been rife.
Fans have been demanding that Liverpool add some new talent to their ranks, and now, it seems like they could've been given a massive boost in their pursuit for a former transfer target.
Omar Marmoush is pushing for a way out of Manchester City
Alongside Liverpool, Manchester City have been one of the Premier League's biggest spenders this season.
Pep Guardiola has added both Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi to his ranks during the January window which were a couple of moves that nobody expected.
However, now that City's team is so stacked, questions are being asked about the futures of some of their first-team squad with a fresh update being shared on the future of Omar Marmoush who has previously been linked with an Anfield switch.
As per a report from Caught Offside, Marmoush is now 'pushing for a move away' from Manchester City.
Although he's only recently made the switch, the fact that he hasn't been able to earn a regular role in Guardiola's team is causing some concern for the Egyptian.
Caught Offside also add that his 'priority' is to stay in the Premier League with Aston Villa and Tottenham the two teams 'at the front of the queue.'
Liverpool must try and get a deal for Omar Marmoush over the line
Marmoush is undoubtedly an exceptional talent with the former Eintracht Frankfurt man often showing up for City when called upon.
His performance levels coupled with the fact that he's already played alongside Ekitike are two of his major selling points for Liverpool with the attacker unlikely to flop.
Of course, the same could've been said about Alexander Isak but with the number of injuries that the Sweden international has suffered, it's not hard to understand why the striker hasn't fulfilled expectations just yet.
One major stumbling block in the deal at the moment is likely to be the lack of time that the clubs have to strike a deal before the January transfer window slams shut.
Indeed, a summer transfer could be worked upon as the season goes on, but, with the poor form that Liverpool have been in this season, any sort of boost that they'd get from a new arrival could help turn their season around in an instant.
That is, especially since Guardiola has even dubbed Marmoush an "incredible" player in the past.
