Liverpool get transfer timeline for INCREDIBLE €100m forward to replace Mo Salah
Liverpool could soon be seeking a permanent successor to Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian King jets off to the Africa Cup of Nations with his future at the club under severe scrutiny.
The 33-year-old’s contract extends until 2027 - but it’s highly likely that sporting director Richard Hughes will seek a buyer either in January or next summer at the latest.
Saudi clubs like Al Ittihad and Al Hilal would be eager to do a deal for Salah under the right conditions and don’t rule out San Diego FC from MLS either.
If Salah’s eight-year reign at Anfield is soon to end then the club will have to step up efforts to sign a new forward.
Diomande earmarked to replace Salah
Although the strikeline was freshened up last summer with forwards including Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, Salah’s departure will create a sizeable hole.
We’ve seen extensive links to Antoine Semenyo and Rodrygo - but there is another up-and-coming young player who could also succeed the two-time African Footballer of the Year on Merseyside.
Yan Diomande’s rise has been rapid since joining RB Leipzig from Leganes over the summer. Diomande, 19, agreed a contract until 2030 with Jurgen Klopp’s side - who paid only €20m for his signature.
That looks an incredible deal for the Ivorian - who has emerged on the radar of all the major clubs in England and across Europe.
Incredible talent Diomande will move next summer
The winger has got six goals and three assists in his maiden Bundesliga season and a quick sale could be in the offing.
That’s according to German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg - who has revealed Red Bull’s timeline over the special talent.
“Top clubs from England all have Yan Diomande in their sights: Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and many more,” he wrote on X.
“Contrary to other reports, there are no concrete or advanced talks with any club.
“Contract until 2030 with no release clause. A move after the World Cup is possible. Leipzig are considering a fee of over €100 million. Incredible talent.”
Diomande valued at €100m
Diomande is making waves as a left-sided attacker but is more than capable of playing on the other side too.
He could therefore provide a solution to Liverpool’s impending Salah-less future on the right wing and also cover Cody Gakpo’s position in the attack.
Diomande is going stratospheric - and €100m might one day look like a bargain based on the potential he’s shown so far.
