Manager tells SUPERB defender: You could play for Liverpool

One of Europe's most talented defenders has been told he could play for Liverpool. And that's from his manager.

Liverpool’s improvement over the last year has been fantastic. They’ve gone from being a team hoping to compete at the top to one of the very best in the world.

A dominant Premier League campaign was actually combined with a dominant league phase in the UEFA Champions League. The only reason Liverpool didn’t make more of an impact on that competition last season was that they faced eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain in the first knockout round.

But now they’re firmly in the discussion for the best team in the world. Arne Slot’s Reds are something special.

That’s proven by Juventus boss Igor Tudor. Tudor was talking up his player Andrea Cambiaso and he dropped in the Reds as an example of an elite team he could potentially play for.

“He could play as a winger; he has a different mindset, he sees the game as a midfielder too,” said Tudor, per Il Bianconero. "He needs to be more consistent.

“He’s potentially a player for the best clubs in the world, but he has to decide. If he decides, he can play for Real Madrid, Liverpool, or Manchester City.”

And that’s an interesting one.

Liverpool and Andrea Cambiaso

Cambiaso has reportedly been considered by Liverpool as a potential signing, funnily enough. He was linked in the summer as a very interesting option to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Italian isn’t necessarily a right-back, after all. He’s a left-back who can also play right-back, while he, as Tudor says, could play in midfield if he wanted.

We do think he’s one worth considering and a genuine potential signing going forward. Cambiaso is a massive talent - and one we’d love to see at Anfield if he can fulfil his potential.

One to watch, then. As Tudor says, Cambiaso could play for Liverpool if he gets it all together.

And he might just get the chance to prove that down the line.
