Liverpool forward who can't stop scoring is begging Arne Slot for a chance

Liverpool have got a couple of academy graduates in and around the first-team picture this season in Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha.

Although Arne Slot has been parsimonious in the game-time offered to the young duo - it’s clear that they are equipped with the talent and maturity to star for Liverpool’s seniors now and in the future.

That is evidenced by the fact that the club were prepared to shell out two professional deals for the England youth internationals.

Whether Slot opts to integrate them further throughout the season remains to be seen - but this club was built on promoting young talents. And before long we could see another teenage sensation enter the fray for Liverpool’s first team.

Kieran Morrison in unstoppable form

Kieran Morrison has been unstoppable for Liverpool’s Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League sides in recent weeks. The Northern Ireland youngster has scored EIGHT goals and provided two assists in his last six PL2 fixtures.

He was in sumptuous form on Friday night - scoring twice and adding an assist for Rob Page’s side in the defeat of Nottingham Forest.

The 19-year-old scored a brilliant free-kick before assisting Noah Adekoya for his first goal for the club. And then Morrison capped off a tremendous display with a goal direct from a corner - an Olympic goal.

Morrison bound to make the step up

It’s getting clearer by the matchweek that the left-footer is outgrowing age-group football and fully merits inclusion with the seniors.

But will Arne Slot see it the same way?

He’s used Morrison in the first team already this season - in the EFL Cup defeat against Crystal Palace.

New contract planned for Kieran Morrison

He’s since been in the first-team squad - most recently for the Premier League game against Sunderland.

Liverpool are advancing in contract talks with Morrison - and according to reports held off both loan and permanent interest in the playmaker in January.

That would indicate that the club were planning to usher Morrison into the first-team picture on a more regular basis. And on the form he’s displaying he more than merits it.
