Liverpool discover NEW Erling Haaland and he cannot stop scoring
Liverpool’s youth and academy sides continue to turn out incredible talents.
This week Arne Slot used three young jewels in the shape of Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and Kieran Morrison as starters for the EFL Cup game against Crystal Palace.
Several more academy stars were on the bench - proving that the pipeline to the first team is still very much flowing.
And it won’t be long until the Reds can boast a new star striker in the youth and underage ranks as Harrison O’Brien makes his way through the age groups.
Harrison O'Brien is FLYING
The 15-year-old joined Liverpool back in March 2024 and has since established himself as a fearsome goalscorer. According to a report from LFC Academy on Instagram, O’Brien has netted 31 goals for the U15s - and now the U16s - so far this season.
This week O’Brien made his debut for the U16s - coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes in a game against Harrogate Town.
Predictably, the striker scored - meaning his goals, along with the assists he’s provided so far this term, account for a total of 47 goal involvements in just 13 matches.
That is an astonishing statistic for the young man, who has already earned comparisons with a certain Erling Haaland from academy insiders.
Harrison O'Brien is JUST like Erling Haaland
“He is scary good, like a young Erling Haaland,” was a message delivered to Lewis Steele a few weeks back.
Back then O’Brien had just scored SIX of Liverpool U15’s seven goals in a 7-1 rout over Stoke in September. Liverpool have produced their fair share of strikers over the years - including Robbie Fowler and Ballon d’Or winner Michael Owen.
Remember the name - Harrison O’Brien - as he takes his first significant steps in the game.
