Liverpool warn rivals: Star set for even BIGGER season
Liverpool believe they’re about to get an even bigger season out of one title-winning star. Watch out, Premier League.
Liverpool walked to the Premier League title last season as by far the most consistent team. And they did it in their head coach's first season in charge and without a single major transfer.
In fact, Arne Slot's squad was a net negative on Jurgen Klopp's. He gained Federico Chiesa, the sole summer addition, but lost out on Thiago and Joel Matip, both of whom retired.
Slot's secret, then, was making sure the squad moved up a level. They did exactly that and several players reached levels we hadn't seen at Liverpool.
Some did it in positions we didn't even know they could play. Ryan Gravenberch was a revelation as a holding midfielder, while Luis Diaz became a key option as a centre-forward.
Everything fit together beautifully and Liverpool won the league. Now they believe that at least one star is going to move up another level.

Cody Gakpo backed to improve
Cody Gakpo kicked on last season to be a vital player for Liverpool. The Dutchman started 23 games - the most he’s ever played in a league campaign - and scored 10 times, assisting another four.
He scored more, created more and was decisive. Four of Gakpo’s goals were equalisers, while another two opened the scoring, with one more earning the three points.
It was a fantastic campaign and Liverpool reportedly expect even more to come.
The Athletic claims that Liverpool aren’t in any rush to replace the outgoing Luis Diaz. He’s joining Bayern Munich after three and a half years at Anfield.
It’s written that Gakpo 'is expected to kick on and play an even bigger part’ after his standout season. Liverpool, then, appear ready to back the winger rather than pay for a big-money replacement.

Though, there are other reasons for the lack of urgency. Rio Ngumoha is one major reason, while there’s a belief that Hugo Ekitike could play on that flank at times.
Liverpool are looking good after the Diaz sale, it seems. So where should that money go?
Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.

That money should go into defence. We need a centre back with Quansah been sold and Gomez injured.
