Liverpool defender agrees new contract
One Liverpool defender has signed a new deal with the club in a significant step.
At this moment in time, players coming into the club is taking precedence for Richard Hughes. However, it's important to note that he has decision to make about what stays at the club as well.
Some have very little futures left at Anfield and have already started to pursue moves elsewhere. Others seek new challenges, including Luis Diaz, who seems very keen on a move to Bayern Munich.
The likes of Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton will simply just be looking for more opportunities and minutes to showcase their quality and grow and develop as footballers.
There are also players on expiring contracts, who could easily be leaving the club.

Most notably the future of Ibrahima Konate hangs in the balance. The Frenchman has entered the last twelve months of his current deal and if Liverpool cannot find a compromise with him, he could leave on a free contract next summer.
So far, there's been no suggestions that he will do that. Liverpool have hope that he could extend and remain at the club for longer. But it's a developing situation, and things could move quickly.
Interestingly, Konate was not the only defender at the club to have entered the final twelve months of his deal this month.
Young defender Owen Beck also had a contract expiring until 2026, and given that he was not involved in the Preston North End game, nor called-up to the pre-season tour of Asia, it looked liked he could leave on a permanent deal.
The promising Welshman has however decided to stay at the club. Liverpool confirmed he has signed a new long-term contract with the Reds, and he's also been sent out on loan.
Next season, Beck will be at Derby County, hoping to continue on his excellent form in the Championship last season while at Blackburn Rovers.
It's understood the 22-year-old is still really highly rated by the club's officials. That's why he has signed a new deal and that's why he's being sent out on loan to develop.
Currently, the Reds have three senior left-back options with the arrival of Milos Kerkez. But Andy Robertson faces an uncertain future in terms of his long-term spot in the team. Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas could depart the Reds very soon, too.

Ultimately, Beck could be a candidate to be a back-up option next to Kerkez in the coming years, if he continues his development.
