Liverpool could save their season by agreeing surprise transfer
Liverpool have been in turmoil over the last few weeks.
Their 2025-26 season may have started off without too many hitches but recently, things have just gone from bad to worse.
Players haven't performed to the standards expected of them and, even when they've tried to claw a result out of a game, it just hasn't worked out.
Most fans thought they'd be close to unstoppable this term but the fact that they've drawn their last two games against Sunderland and Leeds United says all that fans need to know.
And, now that Mohamed Salah has come out and dropped an absolute bombshell about the way Liverpool have treated him, it doesn't feel like it can get much worse.
However, would Salah exiting Anfield really be the worst case scenario for the Reds?
Arne Slot and Richard Hughes should try and move Mohamed Salah on to get the best out of Liverpool
There's no hiding from the fact that Salah was Liverpool's best player last season.
In fact, he's arguably been their most important over the last few years with his goal contributions alone often making the difference.
This season, things haven't gone to plan and even though Arne Slot tried to stick with the Egyptian King, his form resulted in him being benched.
And, since he's now started on the bench for Liverpool in their last three games and has been omitted from their Champions League squad to face Inter Milan, rumours about Salah's future have begun to emerge.
His sale would undoubtedly shake things up at Anfield and be rather surprising but, on the face of things, moving the 33-year-old on may not be the worst idea.
Mohamed Salah's exit would allow Liverpool to be much more flexible
If Salah was contributing to goals as often as he was last season, talk of him leaving Liverpool wouldn't even be emerging.
However, since he's not been his usual self, fans have begun to question whether the Egyptian King still has what it takes to be the Reds' main attacker.
Indeed, the Anfield outfit have already started to prepare for his exit by signing Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike but since they both thrive when used as number nines, one is often left on the bench to accommodate Salah.
These moves would be valid if the former Chelsea ace was playing to his usual standards but with the number of players that Liverpool have who can play at striker, it feels like moving Salah on wouldn't be the end of the world.
It would also allow all four of Liverpool's best midfielders to start the game and perhaps help shore up the Reds' defensive ranks.
Using two strikers rather than wingers could also help Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez thrive, especially with their attacking prowess.
This flexibility could help save their season and perhaps allow them to get back into the Premier League title race or even win the Champions League.
