Liverpool could bring back club legend as Fabrizio Romano confirms agreement

A club legend could return to Anfield after Fabrizio Romano's latest post.

Liverpool are going to be busy in the market in January. Alexander Isak's injury has given Richard Hughes no choice but to be active and to pursue potential moves.

Because of that injury, Liverpool are also going to have to come up with short-term solutions. Right now, they just need bodies. There's not enough depth in the squad to be able to be selective in recruitment.

Hugo Ekitike is a fantastic player and the Reds are going to need to preserve him. He cannot be expected to play every match because that is going to take a toll on his body.

The best possible situation right now may be for Liverpool to pursue a temporary back-up option. Someone who has been at the club and has done it all, becoming a legend in the process.

That is what Divock Origi is. Without a single shred of doubt, Origi is a Liverpool legend. The 30-year-old scored in the Champions League final and has a catalogue of iconic goals that would make some of the best players of all time jealous.

Origi is simply one of a kind. At Liverpool he was the kind of player you could always rely on. He would come on and he would score goals and win games.

Things have not turned out for him the way he would have liked since leaving Anfield. Origi has become exiled at AC Milan and a loan spell at Nottingham Forest also didn't turn out too great.

But now he's going to be a free man and he can start anew. Fabrizio Romano confirmed an agreement between Origi and Milan to terminate his contract.

This update means that Origi will be a free agent come the January window and just as it would happen to be Liverpool are looking for a short-term temporary striker option.

Who could be better in that role than Origi?

Sign him on a six-month contract. Give him the platform to be a back-up to Ekitike and let him do what he has always done best, scoring goals in front of the Kop.

As we said above, beggars can't be choosers. In this situation, Liverpool need someone quick, and Origi is the perfect someone.
