Liverpool are interested in Lille forward Jonathan David, according to L’Equipe, as cited by Sport Witness on Twitter.

The report states that the Reds are in contention to sign the 21-year-old. David's current contract expires in the summer of 2025.

Transfermarkt values the Canada international at €35 million.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We would not be against Liverpool making a move for David, as he appears to be a fine young player.

The 21-year-old has scored 12 goals in 21 appearances for Lille this season.

David has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.84 in the early stages of the 2021-22 campaign.

The aforementioned figures highlight that the Canada international would add depth and quality to Liverpool's list.

Also, due to David's age, it would be fair to assume that he still has plenty of room left for improvement, which is obviously exciting.

Only time will tell if Liverpool are to sign the talented forward.
