Liverpool and Man United now 'closely monitoring' Brazilian wonderkid
Liverpool need to add some new faces to their ranks in the summer.
Although they already spent a rather hefty chunk of change on new players at the start of the 2025-26 campaign, more changes need to be made.
Arne Slot's men have been a fraction of their former selves this term and, while there are several areas among their first-team squad that need upgrading, their attack should be their main focus of attention.
Indeed, Alexander Isak will be fully fit by the start of the 2026-27 season but, even when the Sweden international returns, fans will still be wondering what Arne Slot's and Richard Hughes' plans for their wings will be.
Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo have been miles off the pace this term and if changes aren't made, some serious questions will need to be asked.
There are many players that Liverpool could try and sign but now, it seems like they have their eyes set on one particular player.
Liverpool eyeing move for Bournemouth's Rayan
Unlike Liverpool, Bournemouth have actually done rather well this season, especially since they lost most of their key players in the summer transfer window.
Andoni Iraola has done a remarkable job during his time in charge of the Cherries with their recruitment being rather special.
The same happened again this season with Bournemouth signing Rayan during the January transfer window to replace Antoine Semenyo.
Since arriving at the Vitality Stadium, the 19-year-old has gone from strength to strength with his three goal contributions catching the eye of Liverpool.
That is according to an update from TEAMtalk who share that the Brazilian is attracting 'serious interest' from some of Europe's biggest clubs.
Liverpool, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all been 'closely monitoring' the youngster with each club being left 'hugely impressed' by his recent performances.
Despite the interest from Europe's elite, Bournemouth added an £86.5 million release clause into his contract to try and keep hold of the winger for as long as possible.
Rayan could be an alternative option to Yan Diomande
From all the rumours that have emerged over the last few months, it's clear that Liverpool will be looking at bringing a new winger in during the summer transfer window.
Salah will be entering the final year of his contract and, the form of Gakpo has left a lot to be desired.
Indeed, players such as Rio Ngumoha could end up breaking into the Reds' starting XI more often next season but, since he's still so young, some more experienced players are certainly needed.
Indeed, Rayan and Yan Diomande, who are two of the most likely players to join at the moment are both only 19 but, since they've had more experience at a decent level, each of them could come in and become Salah's successor.
There's obviously a fair few options for Hughes and Slot to explore in the upcoming summer transfer window but, seeing as though Rayan is managing a goal or assist every 180 minutes for Bournemouth despite only joining in January, it's clear that he's an exceptional talent.
However, whether Liverpool are willing to risk spending £86.5 million on either of the aforementioned wingers remains to be seen.
