Liverpool AGREE terms to sign defender
Liverpool have agreed terms to sign one of the biggest talents in Britain. It should now move quickly from here.
Liverpool have set about signing some of Britain's top youngsters over the last five years or so as part of a plan to upgrade the quality coming through their academy. Of course, Brexit had a major effect in that as English clubs cannot sign under 18s from abroad.
And so if you want homegrown players, you need to snap up the best in Britain. Ben Gannon Doak, Kaide Gordon, Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha and several more have come with big reputations - in fact, several had already made senior debuts.
It's a plan that's working. Even if they're not making it to the first-team, Liverpool can typically find a lot of profit through subsequent sales.
And so with that in mind, Liverpool are on the brink of finding another one.
Liverpool agree terms with Dara Jikiemi
Twitter source TheSecretScout reports that Liverpool have agreed terms with Dara Jikiemi of Celtic. The youngster is a captain in their youth system and regarded as arguably their biggest prospect.
It was reported last month that the Reds were pushing to sign Jikiemi. Celtic were worried that Liverpool would eventually get him and it's now turned out that way.
TSS was one of the first to report that Ngumoha was off to Liverpool, so the source certainly has some credence. It's also worth adding that getting a deal sealed wouldn't be a problem due to Jikiemi only being 15 - Celtic are simply entitled to a training fee.
Liverpool hope to add another elite talent to their academy with this one, then. It should now move quickly.
