Liverpool 'actively chasing' SENSATIONAL deal for England midfielder
Liverpool fans have now had a couple of weeks to digest the constant updates from the transfer market and it's now time to get back to dreaming about players that could potentially join the Reds.
Of course, nothing in terms of recruitment can happen until January now, but Liverpool's executives will be spending a lot of time behind the scenes keeping an eye on targets for future windows.

Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace is still receiving speculation, in terms of whether the Reds try to sign him in January or wait until the summer when he becomes available for free - the latter feels likely.
And one of his teammates in Adam Wharton is also likely to be a big name to keep an eye on. As well as Liverpool, Real Madrid have been rumoured to be interested in the Eagles' midfield maestro.

Current reports are suggesting that interest has recently increased beyond mutual appreciation.
Liverpool 'actively chasing' Wharton
According to Defensa Central, a website primarily focused on news surrounding Real Madrid, the Reds are 'one of the clubs that actively the followed the profile of the glazier player [Wharton], a search in which they would not have given up.'
It has long been considered whether Liverpool might consider purchasing a new defensive midfielder and Wharton would fit the profile that Arne Slot likes, he's not a traditional No.6.
Known for his ability to get out of traffic by playing on the half-turn, just like Ryan Gravenberch, the Englishman is more of what Liverpool already have in abundance - No.8s who can play hybrid roles.
And given Real Madrid enjoy playing a similar system, their interest in Wharton makes a lot of sense.
The main caveat, however, is the discrepancy in the Spanish report, which claims a figure of €60m would be considered by Crystal Palace, which appears incredibly unlikely, given the Englishman only turned 21 years old this year and he has four years left on his current deal with the Eagles.
A report from Dave OCKOP claims that Liverpool would be Wharton's preferred destination and that a fee in excess of £60m including add-ons is a more realistic valuation, although it's unsubstantiated.
Given the player's age, his talent and the Premier League experience he's getting as a homegrown asset, you might be inclined to see his future in line with Declan Rice's £100m move to Arsenal.
Of course, the factor for Liverpool to consider is not just a financial one - since Gravenberch hasn't put a foot wrong since he joined the Reds and competition for places is not always beneficial.
Nonetheless, it's positive to know that further blockbuster moves could be on the cards, in spite of the club's extraordinary transfer spend this past summer and Wharton is a highly impressive player.
