Former Liverpool striker target now available for INSANE price

Liverpool are in the hunt for a new striker this summer, that much is clear.

Darwin Nunez is expected to depart Anfield after three seasons and Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are looking for a replacement.

A number of high-profile big money targets have been linked in recent months, but the Reds tendency to act on good value market opportunities may see them move for a less expensive target.

With a number of other positions that also need addressing, and Jeremie Frimpong already halfway through the door, the perfect bargain striker could be on the market for Liverpool.

Former striker target available for just £25 million

According to a recent report from TBR Football, former Liverpool target Dusan Vlahovic has been told he is free to leave Juventus this summer following a breakdown in contract negotiations.

The report states a number of Premier League clubs are interested, including Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Arsenal, and that a fee of £25 million could be enough to secure the Serbian’s signature.

Liverpool aren’t named in the report, but the forward has been linked before, and the Reds’ need for a striker means a move for Vlahovic would make a lot of sense at such a minimal fee.

Richard Hughes signed Federico Chiesa in a low-risk, low-fee, deal last summer and could replicate that strategy with a move for Vlahovic.

Galatasary are also monitoring the situation, so there will be plenty of competition for the striker, but the Premier League champions would surely be able to make a strong case.

Would Vlahovic be a smart signing?

At just 25-years-old, the Juventus striker is still yet to enter his prime and falls into the age bracket that Liverpool typically tend to look to when recruiting.

Although the striker has not enjoyed his best campaign this season, he has still managed 14 goals and five assists in a struggling Juve team.

Vlahovic showed the heights he can reach in the 2021/22 season when he scored 29 goals and provided six assists in all competitions for Fiorentina and Juventus.

Although he has failed to record such a haul since, a £25 million move to the Premier League champions could be exactly what is needed to take Vlahovic to the next level.
