Jurgen Klopp could return to the club in a surprise role.

For supporters around the world, the German has been far more than just a manager. He became a father figure, someone fans looked up to for inspiration, belief, and guidance.

When Klopp arrived, the club had drifted away from its identity and was no longer competing at the very top.

He didn’t just steady the ship, he reignited belief. Turned all of us from doubters to believers.

With his passion and authenticity, he fully embraced the ethos of Liverpool: resilience, unity, and the refusal to give up in the face of adversity, it felt like the Reds became invincible.

Klopp didn’t simply rebuild a squad; he restored the club’s soul. He forged a powerful connection with supporters, grounded in his charisma and his deep understanding of what Liverpool means to its people.

Under his leadership, Liverpool returned to the summit of world football, lifting the Champions League in 2019 and ending a 30-year wait for domestic glory by winning the Premier League title in 2020. Yet his legacy goes far beyond silverware.

Those iconic fist pumps to the Kop came to symbolise something deeper, a bond between manager, team, and fans. With Klopp at the helm, Liverpool didn’t just start winning again, they rediscovered their identity and stood tall once more among football’s elite.

It seemed like the Reds would be able to weather the storm of his departure. Winning the Premier League in the first season Klopp left showed just what an excellent state he left the club in.

However, things are starting to turn dark very quickly.

Arne Slot's tenure has started to turn fans into doubters again. Not since Jurgen Klopp arrived at the club had Liverpool lost 15 games in a single season - and that was under Brendan Rodgers.

Now, Slot has achieved that feat and he's on course for even more defeats before the season concludes.

Long-term Slot is unlikely to be the Liverpool head-coach. But it might not only be him who gets the sack. Others who are equally culpable for this season also face uncertain futures in the Reds' hierarchy and beyond.

A lot of fans yearn for the return of Klopp. But realistically, even though it's clear that the German misses Anfield and its allure that chapter is closed.

Liverpool would be taking a step backwards. Klopp won't be around forever and Liverpool need to find the right successor.

However, there is a way Klopp can return to the club behind the scenes. In his current position at Red Bull, he has taken on more of an executive role - being part of the management of an entire network of clubs around the world and also playing a role in recruitment.

Among his greatest signing so far for RB Leipzig has been bringing in Yan Diomande to the German side, who has become the revelation of the current campaign.

Now at the same time, Michael Edwards' role at FSG is under threat. He will have just one year left on his contract come the summer and there are no signs of negotiations to renew his deal. At the same time, FSG's multi-club model, one of the main reasons Edwards returned has become dormant.

Edwards' time at FSG may soon be up and who better to replace him than Klopp?

In this surprise role at Liverpool he wouldn't have as much pressure on him as he did when he was a coach but he could still use his football knowledge and charm to attract the best talents and personnel to Anfield.

It's a dream scenario and the only way to make Klopp's extraordinary return to Liverpool a reality.
