What a signing Hugo Ekitike has been and what a player he's going to be at Liverpool for many years to come.

The Frenchman was the perfect option to evolve Arne Slot's attack and his seven goal involvements so far this season is proof of that.

In time, Ekitike will gel together with Alexander Isak to create a formidable duo. He's also going to learn to get the best out of Mo Salah and the other attackers around him, including Florian Wirtz.

Sooner or later though he's good enough to be the pinnacle frontman in this Liverpool attack. There's no denying that the clock for Salah at Anfield is ticking.

The Egyptian has less than two years left on his contract. He's now going to be 34-years-old come the end of the season. It's only a matter of time when he moves on.

And when that happens, Liverpool are going to be in a pickle. Salah is irreplaceable. He's the best Liverpool player in the 21st century. He's one of the best Liverpool players to have played for the club.

You can't replace his legacy, his quality and everything else. Ekitike will know that the most. Recently in an interview with ESPN he was asked to name three Premier League GOATS, and Ekitike chose Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba and Salah.

'He's a GOAT,' Ekitike added.

In the same interview Ekitike was asked to name three of his favourite wingers to watch in the world right now. The Frenchman picked Salah again and then chose Lamine Yamal.

Those two are not surprising selections. But his last pick will be very intriguing for Liverpool fans.

Ekitike picked Michael Olise. Why is this particularly interesting? Because Olise is currently every supporter's no.1 choice to replace Salah at Liverpool in the future.

He's also been linked with a move to Anfield. Ekitike's endorsement is an exciting tease and another confirmation that Olise is pretty much the perfect man to replace the Egyptian.

He is not only a brilliant player but he has chemistry on the pitch with Ekitike. Not only does the Liverpool forward admire him but he's also teammates with Olise at international level.

So they have a level of understanding from training and playing with each other on a regular basis. That chemistry would help Olise settle even more quickly at Liverpool.

On paper, he's simply the best option available. Although it remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich will actually sanction a move for him.

Right now, that possibility is moot. If you were Olise though, why would you not want to play for a team with Ekitike, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz?

The prospect of that is mouthwatering.
