"He’s been phenomenal" - Jordan Henderson on Reds winger

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is a big fan of Reds winger Mohamed Salah.

The club signed the Egyptian international from Roma for a transfer fee of €42 million back in the summer of 2017.

Salah has gone on to score 152 goals and register 57 assists in 237 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The aforementioned figures highlight that the 29-year-old has been a superb signing for the club.

Therefore, we weren't shocked to hear Henderson speak so positively about Salah in a recent interview.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the Englishman told BT Sport the following: "He’s been phenomenal for a number of seasons. The numbers that he’s got – goals, assists. But even his general play, his work rate for the team, his leadership within the group.

"He’s an outstanding player and hopefully he can just keep going from strength to strength and help us to be more successful in the future."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Salah is having a very good season for Liverpool. The forward has found the back of the net 27 times and secured 10 assists in 34 appearances.

Despite the fact that Salah is 29 years of age, he is showing no signs of slowing down.

Therefore, we do hope that the Egyptian international signs a new deal. Salah's current contract expires in June 2023.

The winger has made it clear that he would like to stay at Anfield. But, a new deal between Salah and the club is yet to be agreed.

"If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can't say much about that - it's not in my hands. It depends on what the club want, not on me," he told Sky Sports back in October 2021.

Only time will tell where Salah's long-term future lies.
