Four right-backs Liverpool can sign right NOW after Conor Bradley blow
Conor Bradley's injury could force Liverpool to enter the transfer market in January.
It was a terrible sight. Nobody wants to see a young player writhing on the floor in that manner especially when he goes down without any contact.
Looking back at the replays, it looks like Bradley twisted his knee against Arsenal and he left the Emirates in a knee brace and a protective boot on crutches on Thursday night.
There has been no update on his prognosis as of yet but it should be expected that he will be ruled out for a while.
Given the nature of how he went down and the way he has been treated after that injury, the signs are looking bad.
His injury is a huge blow for Liverpool and it will force Arne Slot to have to find another solution at right-back.
Given in Liverpool's current system the alternative options in Jeremie Frimpong, Dominik Szoboszlai and Joe Gomez all have other preferred positions, Bradley's injury could force Liverpool to act in the market.
So, who could Liverpool target?
Well, one of the possible options includes Martim Fernandes. The Porto right-back is only 19-years-old but already has over 60 appearances under his belt.
Liverpool are admirers of the player and have monitored him ever since his emergence into the senior set-up at Porto.
Fernandes is seen as a player who could come in and provide competition to Bradley and who would be ready to start. However, he has been dealing with some injury problems this season so that is a concern.
In terms of his ability, he is a defender who likes to drop deep and progress the ball, which makes him more of a Trent type of right-back.
A more hybrid option, who was actually given his debut by Arne Slot is Givairo Read. The 19-year-old Feyenoord right-back has 49 appearances under his belt at senior level and has four goals and 11 assists during that time.
Read can overlap if he needs to and he's excellent at putting crosses into the box. But he can also underlap and come into the middle to play progressive passes and help in the build-up phase.
He's a Liverpool fan and those Feyenoord connections make this an ideal move.
Other clubs are also interested in him so Liverpool need to act fast in order to bring him to the club.
Another potential option could be Marco Palestra. Liverpool are heavily scouting him right now and he has been a revelation in the Serie A.
He is currently on loan at Genoa, which means Atalanta would need to terminate his loan deal in order to sell him in January.
That would be tricky but it's possible. Things like that have happened in the past.
Palestra is quick and he loves to hog the flanks. He's great going forward and he puts in some really good crosses. His running and energy would instantly give Liverpool a new lease of life.
And lastly, the fourth option is probably the one that is definitely up for a transfer the most.
Alex Freeman has been a stand-out player in the MLS. He is a USMNT player who made 13 goal contributions for Orlando in 42 matches.
Freeman is an extremely forward thinking player. He loves to get in the box but he also tracks back and defends well. He's solid in one vs one situations and has a lot of stamina and energy.
He's the son of former NFL player Antoinio Freeman and at 21-years-old he's got a really intriguing profile. The kind of profile who could be ideal for Liverpool.
