First steps taken towards Liverpool deal with Premier League club for 'exceptional' star
Liverpool aren't often busy in transfer windows, but, this summer, that all changed.
Fenway Sports Group chose to spend over £450 million on new players to try and improve Arne Slot's ranks.
Of course, this massive amount of spending meant that plenty of change has occurred at Anfield over the last 6 months or so which is likely one of the main reasons behind Liverpool's poor run of form.
As well as welcoming players in, some were shown the exit door and while moves for some of Liverpool's players have worked out, others have actually managed to end up in worse situations.
And, even though so much change has already occurred, fans are demanding transfers with new rumours appearing almost every day about players both leaving and joining Liverpool.
Fulham want to sign Harvey Elliott from Liverpool
Harvey Elliott's future has been one of the most talked about situations of the January transfer window.
The young Englishman left Liverpool at the end of the summer transfer window to try and get some more game time under his belt and potentially compete for a place in England's World Cup squad.
At the start of the season, the loan deal worked out well with Unai Emery giving Elliott a decent run of games.
However, once Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins finally found their feet, the Spaniard decided that Elliott wasn't good enough and that he didn't even deserve to be in his first-team squad.
And, because of that, talk of a potential move to the MLS has emerged but now, it seems like his future could be heading in a different direction.
That is, according to a fresh update from TEAMtalk who state that Fulham have 'registered their interest' in signing Elliott.
'Conversations' between the two clubs have been held recently with his chance for a career at Liverpool looking 'increasingly limited.'
Of course, since Elliott has already played for Aston Villa and Liverpool this season, the transfer would have to take place in the upcoming summer window but, the fact that Elliott has the opportunity to play for a Premier League team next term is likely rather exciting for him.
Harvey Elliott could have helped Liverpool out massively this season
When Jurgen Klopp was in charge, Elliott was his star boy.
It was clear that the German felt like the attacking midfielder had plenty of potential to fulfil with his name often one of the first on his team sheet.
Although Liverpool may have both Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz among their ranks who play in Elliott's preferred role, the fact that he can be used on the right-wing if needed would've helped Liverpool out on more than one occasion this term.
There have been times when it's felt like nothing has gone right for Slot's men, and, if Elliott was kept around, it feels like he could've impacted the outcome of their 2025-26 season if given the chance.
That is, especially since he's been dubbed an "exceptional" player on more than one occasion.
However, since Slot didn't trust him last term, the Reds have suffered and now, it's unclear whether they'll even end the season with any trophies to add to their cabinet.
