Fabrizio Romano CONFIRMS Liverpool's plan after Hugo Ekitike
Liverpool have agreed a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt and should now sign Hugo Ekitike. Fabrizio Romano confirms their next step.
Hugo Ekitike is on course to be a Liverpool player. The Frenchman is heading to Merseyside right now, in fact, for a medical with the Reds.
If all goes to plan, Ekitike will sign for Liverpool in a deal that could hand โฌ91m to Eintracht Frankfurt. He'll then fly out to Hong Kong where the squad is currently on a pre-season tour.
The Reds are set to face AC Milan on 26th July and while that is surely too soon for Ekitike to play, the subsequent friendly against Yokohama feels like a certain debut. We really won't have to wait long, then, before seeing the forward in Red.
Ekitike will be a massive signing for Liverpool and one of the most expensive in club history. Though, he won't be the most expensive signing of this summer.
That honour belongs to Florian Wirtz, who joined for a club-record fee from Bayer Leverkusen. And that undersells just how active Liverpool have been.
They've signed both Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez to revitalise the full-back roles. Giorgi Mamardashvili has joined after agreeing to a deal last year, while two more backup goalkeepers in Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman arrived.

Fabrizio Romano on more to come
Incredibly, Liverpool are not expected to stop there. This is a club that's usually remarkably cautious in the transfer market, only wanting perfect players.
We saw that a year ago with Martin Zubimendi. The Reds wanted him but when he said no, they simply stuck with what they had - there was no great alternative.
This summer? They've all gone a bit mad. Liverpool are signing top players all over the pitch, rejuvenating a squad that has already won the title.
Fabrizio Romano, though, says more will arrive.
"Liverpool are not done yet!" he writes on Instagram. "Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and now Hugo Ekitike with more signings expected soon."
The plan, then, is to keep going. Liverpool will hope to bring in a centre-back, according to reports, and almost certainly a forward - especially if Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz leaves the club.

The busiest summer in club history continues, then. It's only going to get busier.
Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.
